I'm so proud of what this business has become and I love that it gets to grow and evolve alongside the women and men I work with. I've poured a huge amount into designing something that truly serves people who feel exactly the way I once did: a personalised service that actually gets to know you.
I'm so pleased you've found me!
Choosing the right stylist is a big deal. This is someone who needs to understand you, your lifestyle, and where you want to go. So it's worth taking a moment to get to know who you'd be working with.
My name is Rachel and after 13 years in the industry, I've built Little Bird Styling on one simple principle: completely independent, honest advice. I'm not affiliated with any brand, label, or retailer, which means the only agenda I have is you. Every recommendation I make is unbiased and based purely on what's right for you.
I'm also a style coach, not just a personal stylist and there's a meaningful difference. A stylist can put together a great outfit. A style coach gives you the strategy, the understanding, and the confidence to make brilliant choices yourself, long after our session ends. My goal isn't to dress you once; it's to change the way you see yourself in front of the wardrobe forever.
On this page you'll find the full story of why I created Little Bird Styling, why I work as a style coach, what I love about this job, my qualifications, and exactly how I can help you.
I believe connecting with your stylist matters enormously, so if you'd like to chat first, I'd genuinely love to hear from you.

By now you've probably gathered, my name is Rachel. I'm a proud of mum of three, committed chocoholic, and a fan of the odd bit of yoga whenever life allows. When I'm not in the city, you'll find me and my family at the River, soaking up the sun and enjoying the slow life.
Here's the thing though, I haven't always felt at home in my own wardrobe. After my first baby (a small giant, LOL), everything changed. The post-pregnancy body was one thing, but what really threw me was the feeling that I'd lost a little of who I was. I was no longer the executive in stilettos and tailored suits, or the girl out for after-five drinks and hours on the dance floor.
I was a mum.
And while I wouldn't change that for the world, I was determined to find the new me and embrace exactly who I'd become. That experience changed how I saw myself — and it sparked something bigger. I realised style was never really about clothes; it was about how you feel in them, and how the right ones can hand you back your confidence. So I went and studied it properly. The more I learned, the more I understood that the real work happens in the psychology of style — the way what we wear shapes how we show up in the world. That's why I'm a style coach, not just a stylist: my job isn't to dress you once, it's to change the way you see yourself for good.
I'm now giving back to women experiencing similar feelings of uncertainty and body concerns just as I did. Adding two more children, lots of life stuff and now the joys of middle aged womanhood (hello hormones!), I can absolutely relate to the new challenges and acceptances this stage brings.
Being a personal style coach is exciting, rewarding and an honour to meet so many incredible people over the years. I love that I can share my journey with you and give you comfort in the fact that I too have been where you are. You can be well assured that my business has been created with all of this in mind and to provide you with a service that is sensitive and connected to those feelings, thoughts and emotions.
A few years on, I returned to retail while studying Counselling and Life Coaching and fell in love, for the second time, with fashion and the women who walked through the door.
Working so closely with them, I saw how often a distorted view of their own bodies shaped the way they shopped — and how reluctant they were to spend on themselves. It made me determined that every woman who left the fitting room felt genuinely good: about herself and her purchase. I wanted them walking out knowing exactly how to wear each piece and make it work season after season feeling excited, confident, and free of the overwhelm, guilt and buyer's regret.
Then, while pregnant with baby number three (and two new diplomas in hand), the opportunity came to build something of my own. I knew I wanted to weave fashion into my coaching work — so back to study I went, and Style Coaching was where it all clicked. Addicted to study much? LOL. But it lit me up. It was the missing piece. As soon as baby three arrived in 2013, I was on a mission.
Welcome, Little Bird Styling.
Personal Stylist, Professional Wardrobe Organiser, Image Consultant, Fashion Adviser, Wardrobe Stylist… all fancy titles for the same thing, really.
But there's one that means something different. Style Coach. And it's the heart of how I work.
I take the time to understand your goals, where you are now, your biggest struggles and where you want to be. That's what lets me give advice that genuinely fits. You're never just another number, and I'll never simply tell you what to wear. Every session is an experience designed to excite you, build your confidence, and keep serving you well into the future.
A stylist can put together a great outfit. A style coach goes deeper. I give you the strategy, the understanding and the confidence to make brilliant choices yourself, long after our time together ends. I'm not here to dress you once and call it done. I'm here to change the way you see yourself in front of the wardrobe for good, and to be there whenever you need a hand down the track.
And the best part of my job? Watching people transform, rebuild their confidence and have a styling strategy that will evolve with them just as their life journey will.
Here's something most people don't know. You don't actually have to be certified to call yourself a Personal Stylist or Image Consultant. But I deeply value anyone willing to invest in proper training, so I've made sure I have. Over the years I've earned several qualifications across styling and the areas that enrich it, including my Honours in Style Coaching, the training that shapes the way I work with every single client.
Certificate in Colour Therapy (2024) I wanted to explore colour on a deeper level, so I studied the psychology of colour and how it influences our daily lives. As a stylist working with colour every day, it was a natural next step and anything that influences our mental health and daily life, I'm instantly in.
Certificate in Professional Photo, Film, TV & Personal Styling (2019) Completed through the Australian College of Professional Styling this was a refreshing way to extend my skills into new areas of styling while reinforcing my skills and previous education.
Honours in Style Coaching (2014) My ah-ha moment, and one I'm genuinely proud of. It let me combine personal styling with coaching, and confirmed everything I love about this work: helping someone build self-worth through a fun, enlightening process which is goal orientated and personalised.
Advanced Diplomas in Counselling & Life Coaching My foundation before styling. The skills from these courses have proved invaluable, allowing me to create a business that sees the person before the fashion.
Investing in my education is a no-brainer for my business and for your experience. It means the advice you get from me is always informed, current and professional.
